The School District of Duval County Public Schools will host its 2017 Spring Teacher Recruitment Fair at Sandalwood High School: 2750 John Prom Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32246. on June 9, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the times listed below:

  • 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – Interview times will be scheduled during this time.  Interview slots are limited and are filled on a first come first served basis.  Applicants are permitted to schedule up to 5 interviews during the recruitment fair. 
  • 12:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. - The interviews will be held during this time.  Please bring copies of your resume along with any supporting documents you may wish to provide to the interviewer(s).

Admission to the Teacher Recruitment Fair will be by INVITATION ONLY.  To pre-register for participation, please complete an application on our district website and complete the survey registration link:

Certification requirements must be met to be eligible for hire.  Please be prepared to provide the following eligibility documentation:

  • Valid Teaching Certificate (Not Expired) or
  • Statement of Eligibility issued by The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) or
  • Degree Conferred Transcripts

What time and where will the Recruitment Fair be held?

Is advanced registration required for the Recruitment Fair?

  •  Yes, you will have to register for the event in advance. 
  • All eligible candidates will receive an email invitation on or before Thursday, June 8 , 2017

Will representatives from every DCPS school be in attendance?

  • No, schools with current and projected vacancies will be in attendance.  Visit our Instructional Careers page to explore current vacancies and learn about schools for which you have an interest.

What do I need to do to get the most out of attending the fair?

  • Come prepared with an ample supply of resumes, copies of letters of reference, copies of teaching certificate, statement of eligibility, or degree conferred transcripts and a general idea of which schools to consider. 

If I have an out-of-state teaching certificate, should I apply for a Florida teaching certificate prior to attending the Recruitment Fair?

  • Yes, we strongly recommend for candidates to apply for a Florida teaching certificate with the Florida Department of Education, as soon as possible (www.fldoe.org/edcert/).

If a school offers me a position, should I continue to interview with other schools?

  • No, if you receive and accept an offer with one school, do not continue to interview with others.

If I am offered a position, what are the next steps?

  • 1.      Ensure that your online application is complete and all required documents (statement of eligibility, teaching certificate, and degree conferred transcripts) have been submitted to Human Resources.
  • 2.      Monitor your email address for next steps from your school’s staffing supervisor. 

What if I have questions during the recruitment fair, whom should I contact?

  • There will be staff members available to assist recruits throughout the fair.
