Project AWARE Grant Information

The goal of the Project AWARE grants are to improve behavioral health awareness among youth-serving adults at school and in their communities.

The Now Is The Time Project - Advancing Wellness and Resilience Education (AWARE) grant program is designed to expand the capacity of state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) to:

  • Identify culturally specific and developmentally appropriate mental health services
  • Provide Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training for adults who interact with school-age youth
  • Engage in outreach to youth and families to promote behavioral health and identify mental illness prevention strategies
  • Identify systems for identifying signs and symptoms early and linking families to existing services
  • Develop and implement a multi-tiered behavioral support framework
