As the new STC, I am putting a few procedures in place to maintain a smooth flow with the distribution of laptops. Please see below:
New to Landmark/Turned in at the end of the year
- See instructions: https://dcps.duvalschools.org/site/default.aspx?PageType=3&DomainID=4&ModuleInstanceID=53831&ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&RenderLoc=0&FlexDataID=66684&PageID=1
- After student and parent/guardian have completed the agreement, student must complete a laptop repair/request form https://forms.office.com/r/Wh7Sek41WX
- The forms are checked once a week and verified against the school data report
- Students are then called to pick up their device
Damaged/Non-working
- Student must complete a laptop repair/request form https://forms.office.com/r/Wh7Sek41WX
- The forms are checked bi-weekly, students are then called to turn in their laptops, in the case of a damaged, non-working device
- The tech department picks up laptops once a week
- Once the laptop is received from the student, it is given to the tech department for assessment.
- They determine whether it can be repaired in-house or if it needs to be sent out for repair.
- Once the tech department returns, the laptop, the laptop will be issued back to the student.
- Unfortunately, I do not have a time frame for repairs as our techs work between two schools and repair issues are a bit backed up.
Lost laptops
- Student must complete a laptop repair/request form https://forms.office.com/r/Wh7Sek41WX
- The price of the laptop will be added to your student(s) account
- Once an additional laptop becomes available, one will be issued to your student
Chargers
- If a student states that their charger has been lost/stolen, a parent or guardian will be responsible for purchasing a replacement charger.
- Replacements can be purchased from
- locally from Urban Mining Tech Rescue (2362 Emerson St #1, Jax FL 32207)
- Amazon https://www.amazon.com/s?k=lenovo+thinkpad+charger&i=electronics&crid=36N666I93C4MU&sprefix=lenovo+thinkpad+cha%2Celectronics%2C188&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_19
- Replacements can be purchased from
Stolen laptops
- If the laptop has been stolen (from your home, vehicle, etc.), then a police report via JSO must be completed and brought to Officer Stanley (our resource officer)
- Student must complete a laptop repair/request form https://forms.office.com/r/Wh7Sek41WX
- Laptops that are missing on campus, are not considered stolen; they are considered lost (see procedure above)
- Once an additional laptop becomes available, one will be issued to your student
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
