• Mission of the DCPS Program for Students who are Speech and/or Language Impaired:

    Our mission is to provide research-based speech and language services to enable speech and language impaired students the opportunity to reach their full potential in all educational settings. 

    Goals of the DCPS Program for Students who are Speech and/or Language Impaired:

    • Support the needs of students, staff and families by fostering an understanding of communication disorders
    • Provide a continuum of evidence-based intervention strategies and services to improve students' communication with peers and adults in the academic environment
    • Make available to students an environment where their language needs are central and essential to a free and appropriate education

    The DCPS mission is met through a variety of programs and services throughout the district.
