GED Waivers

  • GED Age Waiver Process

When an underage DCPS student (16 or 17 years old) wants to withdraw to take the GED® test, they must complete the following steps:

    1. The parent and the student must meet with Ms. Terri Jones, Dropout Prevention Supervisor. During this meeting, the family will complete the following forms:
      • Exit Interview
      • Conduct Form (if applicable)
      • Declaration of Intent to Terminate School Enrollment Form

    2. Parent and student must bring a Government issued ID (birth certificate will suffice for the student) to 4037 Boulevard Center Drive; Bldg. B, 1st Floor.
    • Ms. Jones will complete the Age Waiver and submit it to the State of Florida GED Facilitator, and the student will be officially withdrawn from DCPS.
    • To schedule your appointment, please contact Ms. Jones at (904) 390-2222, Option 3 or use this link:

*Students must be residents of Duval County.  Out of county students must submit their requests to the county in which they reside.
