    • Student-level data is private information protected by both federal and state laws. Under no circumstances shall records and reports be released by Duval County Public Schools employees to any party unless such release is in strict accordance with the provisions of, and to the entities identified in, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 C.F.R Part 99; and chapter 119 and section 1002.22, Florida Statutes.

       

      Individuals and organizations must contact the Research, Evaluation & Data department prior to requesting and accessing student data.

      Student Privacy at the U.S. Department of Education

      The U.S. Department of Education is committed to protecting student privacy. We administer and enforce student privacy laws such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). In addition, we provide technical assistance to help schools and school districts safeguard information about students.
