Northeast Florida Scholastic Art Awards
The Northeast Florida Scholastic Art Awards is a regional visual art affiliate of the national program: Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
As an affiliate, we collect original works from students (age 13-18, grades 7-12), in our region including Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. John's, Union, and Volusia Counties, arrange adjudication with professional artists and art educators, and then honor regional award winners with exhibitions and college scholarship offers. Top regional award winners go on to national adjudication where students can earn national awards, cash scholarships, and recognition at Carnagie Hall in NYC!
This year's regional awards ceremony and exhibition openings will take place on Saturday, February 11th in downtown Jacksonville. We look forward to seeing what our students earn on the national stage!
For 100 years, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the exceptional vision of our nation’s youth. Established in 1923 by Scholastic Inc. founder Maurice R. Robinson, the Scholastic Awards have grown to become the nation’s highest honor and largest source of scholarships for creative teens. Through a nationwide partner network of more than 100 Affiliates, the 2022 Awards received 260,000 submissions spanning 28 categories of art and writing. Nationally, submission numbers for this program have more than doubled in the last 7 years! Students are encouraged by their educators, both in schools and through out-of-school programs, to submit their original work.All students in grades 7 through 12, whether in public, private, or home schools, can apply.Notable Scholastic Awards alumni include Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Cy Twombly, John Baldessari, Ken Burns, Zac Posen, Kay WalkingStick, Lena Dunham, Richard Avedon, Stephen King, Luis Jiménez, and Truman Capote—to name just a few.

February 11th in Downtown Jacksonville:
- NEFSAA Awards Ceremony at the Florida Theatre,
- Individual Gold Key Exhibition Opening at the Main Branch Library on Laura St.
- Senior Portfolio Exhibition Opening at MOCA, and
- Film Festival in the Theatre at the Main Branch Library
March 7th: Last day to experience the Award Exhibitions!

Northeast Florida Scholastic Art Awards
Northeast Florida Scholastic Art Awards (NEFSAA) has been a regional affiliate since 2011. NEFSAA represents Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. John's, Union, and Volusia Counties, including public, private, charter, and home school students grades 7-12, age 13 and up.This is a HUGE opportunity for our art students! Our regional winners receive big scholarship money from our partner colleges and universities, which include Savannah College of Art & Design, Jacksonville University, and the University of North Florida.
These awards have totaled over $31 million in college scholarship offers in the last 5 years!
