Altina Fenelon-Silva, M.Ed

Altina Fenelon-Silva has worked in and with Duval County’s urban schools for over 10 years. She has been a classroom teacher, district resource teacher, instructional specialist, professional development facilitator and administrator in Academic Services, Curriculum and Instruction and Professional Development Department.
Altina received her Educational Leadership and earned her B.A. in Anthropology and Pathways to Teaching, and a Master of Education (M.Ed) specializing in Curriculum and Instruction and Education Technology from the University of Florida. In addition to her role as the Supervisor of Professional Development, Altina serves and works to deepen the collective capacity with teachers and support staff with the Teacher and Support Staff Leadership Program.
Wanda G. Lastrapes, Ph. D.
University Program Director
Dr. Lastrapes has worked with Duval County’s urban schools for over twelve years through university partnerships at the University of Florida and UNF. Her teaching and research interests include cultural sensitivity and perspectives of pre-service and in service teachers, multicultural curricula initiatives in secondary urban teachers. Prior to her appointment to University Program Director of JTR. Dr. Lastrapes served as an Assistant Professor at UNF in the Department of Foundations & Secondary Education for seven years. She continues to teach courses at UNF.
Dr. Lastrapes received her Ph. D. in Urban Services with a concentration in Academic Leadership from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
