Chris White, Ed. D.
Director, Professional Development Schools
Dr. White has worked in and with Duval County’s urban schools for over 20 years. She has been a teacher, administrator, and professional development facilitator, and her areas of expertise include classroom management, and instructional coaching, pre-service teacher preparation, and inquiry. In addition to her role as the Director of Professional Development Schools, Chris also serves as an instructor at UNF.
Chris received her Ed.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Teacher Education from the University of Florida.
Wanda G. Lastrapes, Ph. D.
University Program Director
Dr. Lastrapes has worked with Duval County’s urban schools for over twelve years through university partnerships at the University of Florida and UNF. Her teaching and research interests include cultural sensitivity and perspectives of pre-service and in service teachers, multicultural curricula initiatives in secondary urban teachers. Prior to her appointment to University Program Director of JTR. Dr. Lastrapes served as an Assistant Professor at UNF in the Department of Foundations & Secondary Education for seven years. She continues to teach courses at UNF.
Dr. Lastrapes received her Ph. D. in Urban Services with a concentration in Academic Leadership from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
