• Traditional Dual Enrollment at Sandalwood High School

Students in 11th and 12th grade may participate in dual enrollment at Sandalwood High School if they meet eligibility criteria. We offer dual enrollment on-site at Sandalwood in partnership with three different institutions: Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ), Edward Waters College (EWC), and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). The courses we offer on-site through each school can be found here. For a more detailed description of each course offered, please click here.

In addition to our on-site dual enrollment classes, students who meet eligibility criteria for dual enrollment with FSCJ may elect to take up to 2 courses per semester at the FSCJ South campus. This still allows them the opportunity to take 1 FSCJ course at Sandalwood, as well. Students may not take more than 3 total FSCJ courses in one semester, and they may not take any course at FSCJ South that is also offered at Sandalwood during the same term. For example, if Sandalwood is offering ENC1101 during the Fall term, the student must take that course on our campus, and will need to select a different course or courses, not being offered at Sandalwood, to take at FSCJ.

Please keep in mind that juniors are not eligible for partial schedules, and therefore any courses they elect to take at FSCJ South must be after regular school hours, and will be in addition to their regular Sandalwood school schedule.

**Applications are NOW being accepted for OFF-CAMPUS TRADITIONAL DUAL ENROLLMENT AT FSCJ SOUTH for the 2019 Fall Semester.

Applications are due no later than Wednesday, 05/01/2019 to Mrs. Solliday in the School Counseling Office. The Application includes both the completed “2019-2020 FSCJ DE Application” and the “College Campus DE Statement of Understanding and Textbook Agreement Form”. This is only open to rising 11th and 12th grade students with a 3.0 GPA and college-ready test scores, as outlined above in the 2018-2019 FSCJ Dual Enrollment Eligibility Requirements document.

You can schedule an appointment here if you need to review your eligibility. When completing the FSCJ dual enrollment application, students will need to include reference numbers for the courses they intend to take at FSCJ. Instructions for how to search the FSCJ course catalog can be found here. Students should also complete the alternative course registration form, just in case the courses they request become full or are closed.

Students should never add, change, or drop a dual enrollment course on their own, even if they appear to have access to do so. This is grounds for removal from all dual enrollment courses and will cause a student to become ineligible for any future dual enrollment opportunities with FSCJ. Students must complete the paper application, and will be registered for their selected courses by an FSCJ dual enrollment coordinator. Any changes to their schedule at FSCJ must be approved by the dual enrollment coordinator and their Sandalwood High School counselor.
