Bright Futures Scholarship Program
The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program establishes lottery-funded scholarships to reward Florida high school graduates for high academic achievement. There are four levels of awards.
General Scholarship Requirements and Levels - Click the name of the scholarship for additional details regarding eligibility.
- Florida Academic Scholarship (FAS) - Awared based on required high schools course credits, GPA, SAT/ACT, and service hours.
- Florida Medallion Scholarship (FMS) - Awared based on required high schools course credits, GPA, SAT/ACT, and service hours.
- Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship (GSV) - Award based on GPA, CTE course completion, CTE GPA, service hours, and SAT/ACT/PERT.*
- Florida Gold Seal CAPE Scholarship (GSC) - Award based on 5 postsecondary credit hours and service hours. (no gpa requirement)*
*CTE courses include most culinary arts, technology, and building construction courses.
**Post secondary hours can be earned by passing industry certification exams offered in CTE courses. For example, Culinary Arts students can take the ServSafe Manager exam (3 credit hours), Certified Food Safety Manager (2 credit hours) and complete 30 community service hours to become eligible for the CAPE scholarship.
