Program Brings Bikes and Bytes to Local Schools
Their efforts are straightforward: raise funds, receive donations and renew hope for underprivileged children in the community.
Bikes-n-Bytes, a CH2M employee-sponsored program, donates bikes and computers to deserving students, youth centers, and families in Northeast Florida.
Global engineering firm CH2M developed the program to provide positive reinforcement for good behavior and academic achievement.
During the year, employees work with civic leaders in the Jacksonville area to identify deserving recipients.
More than 650 bikes and 130 computers have been donated over the past 15 years to local schools and organizations that serve at-risk children and families.
The program has expanded to include youth in the St. Augustine, Orlando, and Gainesville areas.
