• GEAR UP Project BELIEF partners with community based and educational organizations to deliver services to GEAR UP students.       

  • CIS Logo CIS provides targeted case management services, with an emphasis on helping students develop in the areas of improved school attendance, improved social and emotional behavior, as well as improved grades and academic performance in school. Additional CIS supports include: eliminating barriers to success, coordinating the delivery of needed personal and school resources, servicing as a bridge among the student, family, and school, and linking mentors with students.

    In addition to supporting GEAR UP activities happening across multiple campuses, FSCJ will implement summer STEAM programs with hands-on, interactive activities and virtual learning experiences. Furthermore, FSCJ will offer students and parents face-to-face and virtual meeting sessions to address career exploration, college guidance, and counseling activities.

  • I am a Star Logo

    Through I’m A Star Foundation, select GEAR UP students are provided mentors. As well, monthly family empowerment forums are held virtually and/or at each targeted school. Additionally, Student Success Coordinators use a College Going Curriculum to assess students' career interest and develop a career plan for them to focus on. Coordinators support college tours, as well as other college readiness activities. 



  • UNF Logo The University of North Florida School Counseling (SOAR) Program provides support, guidance, instruction, and information for students to achieve academic success, earn their high school diploma, and plan for their future beyond high school graduation. SOAR College Career Advisors, Faculty, and School Counseling Interns work virtually and at each school to support school to reinforce a college-going culture (e.g. career planning, scholarship searches, college applications, FAFSA and FFAA completion). Through virtual classroom lessons, small group meetings, and college and career fairs, students develop a focus on accomplishing their college and career-path goals.
