Mrs. Sabrina Hall

Mrs. Hall transitioned from corporate America to the amazing world of teaching in 2008. Mrs. Hall taught Algebra I and Geometry at Andrew Jackson High School. During her sixth year of teaching, Mrs. Hall decided to make a difference at a larger scale. She moved into school leadership by serving as an Assistant Principal in both middle and high school. Mrs. Hall had the pleasure of leading at William M. Raines High School, Southside Middle School, and Jefferson Davis Middle School.

A few of Mrs. Hall’s most notable professional accomplishments include:

· Recognition as a Top 5 Finalist for the Duval County 2015 Teacher of the Year.

· Partnering with other educators to create amazing memories for students through events like:

o Math Green Parties (celebration of math growth),

o A Taste of Raines (a student showcase of visual and performing art talent),

o Schoolwide Cultural Studies Lessons (valuing and appreciating other cultures)

· Collaborating with the University of Florida and Study Edge to launch Algebra Nation, a math resource, designed to increase student pass rate on the state’s Algebra I End of Course Exam (a graduation requirement).

· Consistently attaining notable student growth on state assessments, proving that all children can learn and show significant growth, despite having a label of “level 1 or non-proficient”.

When Mrs. Hall is not working with tons of amazing people, she is enjoying time with her family, reading, or completing logic and crossword puzzles.

Jocelyn Mitchell begins her educational journey as a middle school math teacher at JEB Stuart aka Westside Middle School. During her years of teaching, she taught Algebra 1 at N.B. THer teaching motto was to encourage students daily, expect them to dream big, work hard, and reach for the stars.

Becoming an Assistant Principal at Westside High School is a very personal accomplishment because it is the community, I raised my family and two of my children are N.B Forrest (Westside) graduates. I plan to continue to push all students to their full potential in the classroom, athletically, socially, and most importantly assist them in a post-secondary option for success in life.

Outside of School She is Married to Mr. Eddie Mitchell has 3 children Delvron, Jamell, and Isaiah, and 5 grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell enjoys watching all sports, especially football. Dr. Stephen Richardson

Dr. Stephen (Steve) Richardson is a Duval county native. He is the product of DCPS education and a proud graduate of the former Nathan B Forrest High School (now Westside high). He is the son of a preacher man, as his father is a Pastor, but he also works in electrical sales by trade. His mother has been a homemaker for over 30 years.

Immediately after his high school graduation, he attended the University of Central  Florida where he received his Bachelors degree.  Although he pursued medical school, an unpleasant internship with a pediatric oncologist changed his path to education. At that time, Dr. Richardson immediately fell in love with the idea of molding young minds, providing mentorship, and being a role model.

He has taught in Orange, St. Johns, and Duval counties. He has also coached volleyball, track, and wrestling in those various counties. Dr. Richardson began his administrator experience at Bartram Trail High in Saint John’s county in 2015. After being at Bartram Trail High School as a grade level Assistant Principal, he became the AP of school operations. At that time, he manintained the school, its daily activities, and its 3,000 studuents. After being at Bartram for 4 years, he decided to return to his roots. In 2019, Dr. Richardson accepted an Assistant Principal position at Westside High.

Dr. Richardson lives by this educational motto, “Children live what they learn”.
