Students Take to the Skies with Young Eagles Flight

  • Students from Ed White High School had a chance to take to the skies on October 20 during the Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagles Flight Rally at Haller Airpark in Green Cove Springs.

Instructors were present and available to give students hands-on instruction in aerospace technology and instill the thrill of flying.

All participants took a free airplane ride with an expert pilot and received a pilot's logbook with a code to activate a free EAA student membership.

The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested youth the opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. Volunteers who participate in the Young Eagles program are local members of EAA who volunteer their time and aircraft to make flights possible.

Since 1992, volunteer EAA pilots have flown more than two million young people in more than 90 countries.
