• School mergers: ACE process notes

This page provides information about the school district's proposal for three school merger scenarios beginning in the 2020-21 school year. These three scenarios are:

    • John Love Early Learning Center (Pre-K through 2) to merge with Long Branch Elementary (3 through 5). The result will be a Pre-K through 5 campus on the Long Branch Elementary campus.

    • Brentwood Elementary to transition students to North Shore Elementary. North Shore is one of the district's newest campuses.

    • Saint Clair Evans Elementary to merge with Carter G. Woodson Elementary. The students will join together on the current campus of Northwestern Middle School. Northwestern will become a traditional elementary school. Current Northwestern Middle students will be reassigned to higher-performing middle schools.

Each proposal is being reviewed and discussed by members of their school community. This process is known as Academic and Community Excellence meetings or ACE for short. The ACE meetings are designed to gather school community feedback and guide the school district as it makes decisions about school mergers.
