    Comcast announced a comprehensive response to
    COVID-19, including an extension of the
    company’s existing internet service program for
    low-income families, Internet Essentials. Comcast
    has already increased internet speeds for all
    Internet Essentials customers, at no additional
    cost, but new Internet Essentials customers will
    receive two months of service for free! The news
    is also good for Comcast mobile users. For the
    next 60 days, the company has suspended all
    service plans and is offering unlimited data to all
    Comcast mobile customers, free of charge.

    In addition to offering free internet service to
    students, Spectrum will continue to offer home
    internet services to low-income families. The
    program includes an option for low-cost, in-home
    Wi-Fi for just $5.00 per month. Families
    participating in the National School Lunch
    Program (NSLP) qualify for assistance – including
    students served by the Community Eligibility
    Program (CEP). Information on the application

    Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be
    available for free to anyone who needs them. This
    includes non-Xfinity subscribers. A map of Xfinity
    WiFi hotspots is available at the above link. Once
    in range of the Xfinity hotspot, simply select
    “xfinitywifi” from the list of available networks
    and launch an internet browser
