ELA @ JWJ
Students are encouraged to think conceptually and creatively in their ELA classes. Since our curriculum is advanced and gifted, with NO STANDARD COURSES, we go deeper by doing at least 2 novel studies at each grade level.
Below you will find pictures of our classes in action AND examples of lessons with student products.
Students in 7th grade explored Point of View after their novel study of The Outsiders. Click here to see 2 fantastic student products on PoV.
Students in 8th grade read the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel MAUS I. Here is an example of a "TED TALK" project from 8th grader Nandani Patel.
