• DA students complete Algebra I lab Mathematics

    The seven full-time instructors of the Math department bring over ninety-six years worth of knowledge and expertise to instilling the passion of mathematics in the students of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. The Math faculty includes four school-based Teachers of the Year, and one Duval County Teacher of the Year semi-finalist.

    The broad-based curriculum encompasses nearly all of the math courses offered by the District at the standard, honors, and Advanced Placement levels. Our teachers utilize a variety of teaching methods and tools, including an emphasis on inquiry learning, problem solving, and critical thinking. State FSA, PSAT, ACT, and SAT preparation are an integral part of everyday classroom activities.

    The department’s curriculum includes: Algebra I, Geometry (Standard and Honors), Algebra II (Standard and Honors), Pre-Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Math for College Readiness, College Algebra, Financial Algebra, AP Statistics, and both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.
