Charles Lyles was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, where he attended the public school system from kindergarten to high school graduation. He then moved to Tallahassee, Florida to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, earning a BS in African American Studies with a minor in education and ME in Secondary Education.

During his 18 years in education, Mr. Lyles has worked in various settings, from urban, suburban, and alternative. He has also served in elementary, middle, and high schools in various capacities, including teaching Social Studies, Science, ELA, and Gifted.

Prior to his assignment as Assistant Principal of Asa Philip Randolph Career Academies, Mr. Lyles served as Assistant Principal at Bridge to Success Academy.

In his leisure time, he greatly enjoys traveling and supporting his FAMU Rattlers, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mr. Lyles believes that “Tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”, so his goal is to help the students of today ready themselves to be the leaders of tomorrow.
