    LOCKER AND BACKPACK POLICY CHANGE

This year, students will move from the 4x4 to a 7 period day with 50 minutes of instructional time in each class. To maximize instructional time, hall lockers will not be issued instead we are asking parents to please purchase a clear or mesh backpack to hold their student's basic school supplies (pen, pencil, paper, and binder). Teachers will inform students of the supplies needed for their class on the first day of school. Please check our school website throughout the school year for updated information.

Welcome

  • Teal Nation

Welcome to the Den! Twin Lakes Academy Middle School (TLAM) is home to approximately 1300 students in grades 6-8 from Beach Boulevard to Bartram Springs. The school is centrally located on the southside of Jacksonville. Its location on Baymeadows Road along Interstate 295N makes it accessible regardless of place of residence. We offer comprehensive and challenging curricula from our most challenging gifted courses to our more supportive intensive courses in reading and math. Students who meet our prerequisite classes have the opportunity to take up to five high school classes (Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, Digital Information Technology and Spanish I) during their time at TLAM. We also have a state-of-the-art STEM lab, 2D and 3D visual arts rooms, a comprehensive band and choral suite and two computer labs. Each academic classroom is equipped with a laptop cart and a large screen digital display screen with a student response system.  In addition, we have a full range of opportunities available in athletics, the arts, and a variety of clubs and activities.
