Principal: Lori Turner
Hi TJ Family!I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Thank you to everyone who attended our "Donuts with Moms" Title I event on Friday. We had a wonderful turnout! Thank you also to those who volunteered and who assisted with Picture Day. Please note that the Quarter 1 report cards go home with students tomorrow. This week begins Red Ribbon Week, which we observe October 23rd-31st. A flyer describing our "Say No to Drugs" dress-up days for the week went home with students twice and is attached to this e-mail. Tomorrow, we wear words with positive messages and/or red. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and every Friday we will wear pink to promote the cure. Our Annual Title I presentation will be held tomorrow, October 23rd, at 4:30 at the SAC Meeting. This will describe the purpose of Title I and how it engages parents in student learning. The meeting will be held in the Media Center. Coach Young will host a Mentor Run this coming Saturday, October 28th, pairing our TJ students with Baldwin Middle-High School students. All elementary students must have a parent or guardian present who must sign a liability waiver for the students to run. All runners will meet in front of Thomas Jefferson at 7:30. The run starts at 8:00 a.m. Flyers will be sent by Tuesday. Our school is also participating in the "Kids Heart Challenge", sponsored by the American Heart Association. I will send the information in a separate e-mail. Lastly, the PTA will host the Monster Mash costume dance this Friday, October 27th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Costumes may not include masks or weapons. Students in grades K-2 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone who purchased a ticket. All students must be picked up at the door by 8:00 p.m.
I have attached flyers for the Monster Mash and Red Ribbon Week, as well as the SAC Meeting invitation to this e-mail. Have a wonderful week!
Have a wonderful week!Mrs. Turner Principal
