Blast Off into Learning: Exploring the Universe of Educational Opportunities

    2022-2023 School Theme

    July 26, 2022

    Greetings Eagle Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!  We are looking forward to safely welcoming back our Eagles this fall. Last year, we launched our House System and our students did a wonderful job of establishing both House Pride and School Pride. We are looking forward to kicking off the year with our scholars and welcoming our new scholars to our House next month!

This school year, our goal is to show continuous improvement and to continue to develop an environment filled with young scholars, hungry to excel and achieve.  We will work diligently to ensure that our students are equipped to continue developing both socially and academically.  Our focus will be to accelerate learning as we continue to build on the knowledge and foundational skills our scholars have and help them to use that to acquire new academic skills.  We will also equip our teachers with the tools needed to ensure that our students' social-emotional well-being is intact and that they are using the most cutting edge academic resources to prepare our scholars for college and/or their future careers.

The 2021-22 school year brought about overall positive changes and greater results.  Third thru fifth grade students showed improvements in all state-tested areas from the Florida Standard Assessment (FSA) which resulted in our school grade maintaining a C.  As we celebrate our growth, we have set new goals and are putting a plan in motion to ensure that we take on the challenge of new academic standards and accountability assessments.

New this year: We will enforce a new bookbag policy this school year to increase campus safety.  Our scholars may only bring bookbags that are clear or mesh.  Lunch boxes/bags do not need to meet this criterion. Please help us to ensure campus safety by adhering to this policy. Our district has permitted me to implement this safety measure for our campus and it will be enforced daily. Scholars with a bookbag that is not clear or mesh will be directed to leave the bag in the office and a parent will need to come to collect it.

This year, our school theme is Blast Off into Learning: Exploring the Universe of Educational Opportunities.  We will continue to dig deeper as a school community so that our teachers provide a high-quality education for all scholars, considering their individual needs, while ensuring that every child is prepared for success in every classroom, every day.  Our students will take this journey with us, setting goals that they CAN achieve and exceed by taking risks and recognizing that every day is an opportunity to learn and grow.  We will monitor student progress towards their goals regularly, making the necessary adjustments to ensure their success.  Moreover, I challenge you, parents/caregivers, to take an even greater role by becoming more involved in our school functions and in your child’s academic journey.

Please plan to join us for our Student Orientation on Thursday, August 11, 2022, using the following schedule:

    VPK/Kindergarten: 9:00am-10:00am

    1st and 2nd grades: 11:00am-12:00pm

    3rd-5th Grades: 1:00pm-2:00pm

Meet your child's teacher, drop off supplies, pick up a Car Rider's tag (if needed) and receive important information from your child's teacher. Team Up staff will be on site with details regarding this year’s after school program as well as other vendors/partners that may benefit you this school year.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Jessica Sales, Principal
