International Baccalaureate (IB) Admissions
Applying for the IB Program
All students applying for the IB program at Stanton must complete a High School Acceleration Program application.
The HSAP application will be available through the Focus Parent Portal at the beginning of December.
If you do not have a Focus Parent Portal account, follow the directions in the HSAP Guide to Creating Focus Account and Application Completion below.
Additional information on Focus Parent Portal can be found here: https://dcps.duvalschools.org/Page/15745
All students must complete the HSAP application online. For private school students, students outside of DCPS, or DCPS families who do not use or have a parent Focus account, a parent focus account must be created and linked to the student before the application can be completed.
Students without standardized test results and/or grades in the Duval County Public School student information system (Focus) must upload official copies of the student standardized test score reports from Grade 7 in both reading and math, Final Grade 7 Report Card, and Grade 8 Report Card showing Quarter 1 and 2 grades at the time of application submission. Applications missing information will not be processed.
All accepted students from outside DCPS must provide official transcripts once final grades post for the 8th grade school year.
Point Evaluation Criteria
The IB application is entirely merit based. There is no preference for feeder school patterns, siblings, or other considerations. The evaluation scores are based on the following criteria:
0-36 points: Grade 7 Core Academic Final Grades (English, Math, Social Studies, and Science)
0-30 points: Grade 7 FSA (or NRT) in Reading and Math
0-34 points: Grade 8 Core Academic Grades (Q1 & Q2, English, Math, Social Studies, and Science)
Application to the Stanton IB Program takes place during the 8th grade year for admission in the following 9th grade school year. All application eligibility procedures are processed through the Duval County Public Schools Office of School Choice. Please contact their office at 904-390-2028 for procedures, timelines, and application eligibility and submission information.
