• Community Based Instruction

     
    Community Based Instruction (CBI) is a community based instructional program designed to assist students with exceptionalities (9th– 12th grades) in developing functional skills which will increase the possibility of independence and enhance their quality of life. Students participating in the CBI program at Mt. Herman will develop appropriate skills (behavioral, functional, communication, daily living, recreation and leisure) within the community. Teachers and staff will accompany their students to a variety of community locations where they will learn how to communicate their wants and needs, as well as, how to maintain appropriate behaviors within the community.
