Writer's Workshop will be a time each day for children to use the writing process on a topic of their choice. This workshop time will follow the framework of gathering for a mini-lesson or crafting focus, sometimes including a mentor text. Afterwards, sending students out to compose and explore the writing process, conferencing with teachers or other students. Finally, gathering again for reflection in the Author's Chair. Writer's Workshop starts in Kindergarten as a regular part of the school day. The majority of workshop time is spent with children writing on a topic in a particular genre. During the Author's Chair, studnets have the ability to share their writing with their classmates and receive feedback to move their writing to the next level.
