Mission of the DCPS Program for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing:
It is the mission of the Duval County Public School Program for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to utilize rich literacy and language focused approach to provide an individually challenging learning environment where students are inspired to reach their individual potential and are prepared for success in college or a career.
Goals of the DCPS Program for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing:
- Support the needs of students, staff and families by fostering an understanding of hearing loss
- Provide a continuum of evidence-based intervention strategies and services to improve students' auditory access, communication abilities, and academic achievement
- Make available to students an environment where their language needs are central and essential to a free and appropriate education.
