At John E. Ford, our Preschool Program is a tuition-based program, the fee is currently $327 per month, SUBJECT TO CHANGE. After visiting our school, submit an application ONLINE through your FOCUS account on or before February 29th. Applications are processed randomly by grade level and priority. Placement is not guaranteed. Parents will be notified in mid-April via email and/or their FOCUS account. The communication will inform you if your child was placed at John E. Ford or wait-listed.
KindergartenAfter visiting our school and attending a scheduled tour, please submit your application via FOCUS. Visit www.duvalschools.org during the on-time application window, January- February 29th, for additional information. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1st of the school year you are applying for. Students who attend John E Ford for PK3 will automatically roll to PK4. PK4 students will automatically roll to kindergarten- completing a magnet or special transfer option application will cancel your seat assignment for the next school year.
1st - 8th GradeApplications are processed with Prior Montessori Experience; a minimum of a full year of attendance in an accredited Montessori program less than a year from the immediate preceding school year.
If your student has Prior Montessori Experience, please complete the application in your parent FOCUS account, January 1 - February 29th.
Magnet ContinuityFifth grade students from J. Allen Axson have program continuity to the middle school program at John E. Ford, with an application submitted January - February 29th.
John E. Ford students do not need to reapply for 6th grade. Rising 6th grade students from John E. Ford will automatically roll into the middle school program unless an application is submitted for a different choice. If a family submits a magnet or special transfer option application, then their assignment to Ford will be canceled for the following year. Placement is not guaranteed.
John E. Ford 8th grade students have program continuity to Darnell-Cookman HS, Paxon HS, Samuel W. Wolfson HS and Stanton HS. Students must successfully complete Algebra 1 by the 8th grade to be eligible for program continuity.

Students currently enrolled in kindergarten - seventh grade must provide proof of Prior Montessori Experience for a full year from the immediate preceding school year when completing their application in FOCUS. Tour participation is uploaded to the lottery portal at the close of the application window.
