• Mrs. Charlene T. James Greetings New and Returning Hogan-Spring Glen "Dolphin" Family,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I hope you are enjoying a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting memories with your loved ones. I hope you are relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year.  Our administrative, custodial, and secretarial staff have been working throughout the summer months preparing the building for another amazing school year. This year's theme "Building Our Future... Investing In Our Strengths" (Legos). You'll see this theme throughout the school's decor and within the learning activities this school year.

Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary School has been designated as a Title One school. Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students at no charge. This provision eliminates the need to submit a Free/Reduced Lunch application at our school. We strongly encourage each of our students to enjoy a healthy breakfast and lunch with us every school day.

We are also proud to offer numerous extracurricular activities to involve students in their many interests and talents. We are a proud GREEN SCHOOL where all students are involved in keeping the earth clean by recycling. In addition, we have the Cathedral Arts Project (CAP) where students in grades 3rd thru 5th have the opportunity to play strings instruments.

Personally, I am grateful and elated to continue this journey with you as your Principal. Over the past 4 years, I have had a chance to meet many of you and your children and look forward to continue building a strong relationship with all of you in the upcoming year. We have grown to a school "A" rating. As we enter this new school year, I want to let you know that our staff will be engaging in conversations around having a growth mindset, both for themselves and all students. We believe that every person in this building should always be growing and learning. Despite obstacles that may arise, we must always believe in our ability to rise above challenges and come out stronger on the other end.

Lastly, my goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. Please also know that we highly value home/school communication here at HSG. It is vital and plays an integral role in each student's success. As always, please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns.

    Educationally,

    Charlene T. James, Principal

    Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary School
