• My name is Cecilia Robinson-Vanhoy and I am delighted to be the Principal of J. Allen Axson Montessori School.

I have been a resident of Jacksonville, Florida since my dad retired from the United States Air Force when I was fifteen. I am a proud graduate of Terry Parker High School. I have been happily married for the past 29 years to my husband, Joe, and we have a beautiful daughter named Kimmie.  Kimmie has been a Montessori student since she was three. First at John E. Ford, where I was the Principal and now at J. Allen Axson.

We love animals at my house. Currently I have one dog named Duke, two cats, Maxwell and Charlie, Tuck the hedgehog, and a Bearded Dragon named Mojo.

I was a successful Duval County Public School teacher for thirteen years before I became an Assistant Principal and Principal. I taught Montessori 3-6 for seven years before becoming an administrator. I currently have a BA in Education, a MA in Elementary Education and a EDs in Educational Leadership. I hold certifications in: Emotionally Handicapped, Gifted, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership and Principal All Levels. I hold American Montessori Society(AMS), Early Childhood Credential in ages 3-6 from the North Carolina Teacher Education Program. I also have an AMS Elementary I & II Credential from Barry University Montessori Teacher Education Program for 6-9 and 9-12.

I am committed to the Montessori Method and philosophy. Our program is unique. We are a successful Magnet Program and have been an A school since the school opened. I look forward to leading the school to another great year.
