Dear Parents,Welcome to the best place to learn and grow -where teachers are scholars and students are future leaders. We are honored to serve as the instructional leaders at Pickett elementary school. Our goals for the 2016-2017 school year are:
- Put systems and structures in place to increase student learning.
- Collaborate and work together with our parents and community to build learning bridges and support for our students.
- Consistently and continuous use data to inform decisions we make for our students learning and social emotional development.
Our school wide theme for instruction this year is: Pickett Goes to College: Exploring Leadership Opportunities. We want every student to be college/career ready by the end of the school year. We’ll show our commitment to learning each day as our teachers and paraprofessionals work diligently to make standards-based instruction a meaningful and successful experience for our students. It is our responsibility to maximize the growth of each child within a safe learning environment. We truly look forward to this challenge, and know that every child is a unique gift that we strive to grow with love, compassion, and true commitment to excellence.
We welcome parents to be a part of our learning journey. Please know that we have an open door policy. We are interested in speaking with you and our students. We welcome your concerns, requests, and feedback. The easiest way to contact us is through email. You may also call at any time. If a face to face conversation suits your needs better, please call Mrs. Ammons, school secretary, at 904-693-7555 extension 110, to make an appointment so that you will not have to wait.
We are proud of the students, parents, faculty, and staff of Pickett Elementary School. Everyone involved helps to create a supportive school where all are welcomed and respected. Pickett is truly a school family. Together, we can create a successful team for your child’s growth this school year! Thank you for your support of our school. Please feel free to visit and volunteer.
