    Dear Samuel A. Hull Families

    Welcome to the “2017-2018” school year. We are an "A" school.  We believe all students have the right to learn, work, and play in a safe school environment, built on a positive culture and free of disruptive behavior.  The research has shown when students feel safe at school it translates into higher academic achievement, increased student well-being, and greater student engagement.

    Friendly Reminders for 2017-2018
    • The FOCUS computerized program allows parents/ guardians an opportunity to monitor grades, attendance, and discipline. Also, parents are able to communicate with their child’s teacher. All parents or guardians should visit the Duval County Public Schools’ website and register for their Focus account.

    • Starting the first day of school, August 14th, all students will have breakfast in the cafeteria from 8:00 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. The cafeteria staff will not serve breakfast after 8:30 a.m. The instructional time will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. every day. It is imperative each child starts the year off being on time every day. 
    • All car riders and day care students must be dropped off every day at the door near the TEAM-UP office between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., which leads directly to the cafeteria. All students in the cafeteria will be required to sit with their assigned class and grade level. There will be no exceptions to this procedure. All students arriving after 8:30 a.m. must be escorted to the office by a parent or guardian for a tardy slip.
    • The front area of the school between 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. is designated for the school bus only and 2:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. is designated for the school bus and day care vans only.  All parents or guardians are to park in the visitor parking lot during the times listed above.

    Once again, I invite you to attend orientation Friday, August 11th at 1:00 p.m. During this time, I will present the “2017-2018” District initiatives and school-wide expectations. Also, you will have an opportunity to join PTA for $5.00, receive a TEAM-UP packet, review the Parent Involvement Plan, and meet other faculty/ staff members.
