Westview K-8 Family,
It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to be your principal. The 2018-2019 school year is the year of continued growth and positive change. However, I cannot do it by myself. I need YOU, yes you, to be there supporting the growth and positive change. Please know that the teachers and staff of Westview K-8 are dedicated to the success of each and every student.
Duval County Public Schools' curriculum is based on the Common Core Standards and the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Our teachers will engage our students on a daily basis using the standards. We ask that you help maintain this academic focus by attending parent/teacher conferences, parent nights, and other opportunities to review your child’s progress.
I encourage you to get involved as much as possible at Westview K-8. Please come volunteer, join the PTA, and join the SAC. Parents and community members help make the school successful along with its students, teachers, and staff.
Lastly, this year is going to be amazing! We will have different positive behavior rewards while, at the same time, holding students accountable to their behavior and their work. Ultimately, we want our students self-sufficient and holding themselves accountable to their own success. I have an open door policy and welcome any and all suggestions. Please feel free to contact me by phone (904-573-1082) or by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your students this year! It is going to be the best year yet for Westview!
Claire St. Amand, PrincipalWe are growing great learners!
