Thank you for visiting our webpage! It’s our goal for this site to provide you with the information needed in order to give you an in-depth look at the school and everything it has to offer the children of Jacksonville.
Throughout Woodland Acres Elementary School’s 57-year history, the school has maintained a proud tradition of educating the children in the Arlington community. Currently, Woodland Acres serves a diverse student population of 785 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5th. It is a true neighborhood school in that none of the children from the community ride a school bus. It is the focal point of the community giving families the resources needed in order to help their children become productive citizens in society. We are driven to do everything in our power to educate and serve our families.
Woodland Acres Elementary has recently become a School of the Medical Arts. While our instruction is driven by the Common Core State Standards, the medical arts program integrates the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's characteristics of an effective health education curriculum. Having the Medical Arts Magnet Program increases the opportunities for our students as they make decisions about their secondary and post-secondary education.
Woodland Acres thrives on its many partnerships throughout the community. We truly live by the proverb of “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child.” Our many community partnerships foster the academic growth of our students. We invite you to help us as we build our community of learners by volunteering at the school in whatever capacity you see fit.
Please come see us or schedule a tour of the school to see all of the great things taking place on a daily basis.
