• Superintendent's Math Challenge

The Challenge

  • Superintendent Diana Greene has issued a FUN CHALLENGE to Duval’s students in grades three to five to stretch their math skills and tackle even the toughest standards for their grade level.

Using fun activities and standards-based, computer interactive math tools (iReady for grade three and Freckle for grades four and five), classrooms throughout Duval’s public schools are recognizing and incentivizing students to be working on grade level in math.

Check out what some of our schools are doing to celebrate their awesome math students!

The Rewards

  • School principals receive a report each week showing the students with the highest pass rate average for the lessons and those with the greatest growth, so all students have a chance for a prize. Later this year, schools will recognize the three top performers with a gold trophy and the three most improved with a silver trophy. Participants will also receive a certificate. The district is also providing each school with some funds that can be used at the school’s discretion for individual, class or school celebrations for progress and achievement.
