What is the National Honor Society?
Founded in 1921, the purpose of the National Honor Society is to elevate students’ and schools’ academics, leadership, and community engagement.

What Are the Membership Responsibilities?
- Attend Monthly Meetings on the Second Wednesday of Each Month
- Attend Fall and Spring Socials
- Plan and Participate in Group Community Service Projects
- Commit to Earning 25-50 Community Service Hours Per School Year (This will be a combination of group community service projects and individual community service activities).
How can I apply?
- Students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades who have a minimum unweighted GPA of a 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply for membership. Eligible students will receive an invitation to attend an Interest meeting after first semester grades post each Spring.
- Student application packets are scored based upon the four pillars of the National Honor Society- scholarship (GPA), leadership (involvement in clubs/organizations at JRHS and beyond), service (community service hours), and character (discipline and attendance history and letters of recommendation).
