Dear Julia Landon Students,
As we enter the 2017-2018 school year, I want to express my deepest desire to making sure you have a very successful school year. For all students that are returning to Julia Landon, congratulations on your achievements last year as we maintained the letter grade of an “A” and increased in total points on the FSA from the previous year! Your hard work and dedication to your education continues to reflect through your academic performance. For those new to Julia Landon, I welcome you into the family as we take you to the next level in your education.
The faculty and staff at Julia Landon are very excited to work as your support as you accomplish all your academic goals. Always remember that you are in charge of your learning. We have amazing teachers at Julia Landon who will provide you with everything you need to grow socially and academically. The routines and study habits you put in place this school year will dictate your success. Being a member of a leadership development school means that you must put systems in place at home and in school to always strive for excellence.
This year I want you to focus on what it means to define your leadership. Returning members have all studied the “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” curriculum. Reflect on what you learned from this course and apply it to your life this school year. Incoming 6th grade students will learn about the 7 Habits. As you learn a new habit this year, make it relevant to your life and adjustment to middle school.
Each of you will sign an Academic and Behavioral Success Agreement. Read this document carefully. Following this agreement is a crucial step in either becoming a leader or maintaining leadership characteristics. Through your commitment to excellence and your education, you will quickly see that the sky is the limit.
Let’s make the 2017-2018 school year your best year ever as a student. If there is ever anything you need, please do not hesitate to stop by my office. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your principal.
