Due to Covid-19 and the CDC guidelines in order to avoid the gatherings of large groups of people,
we will no longer have Parkers as a dismissal option. These students are encouraged to be a
walker/bike rider/ or car rider.Bike Rider/Walker Dismissal Regular Weather Day:
Bike Riders and Walkers will have a staggered dismissal through the eastside gate. Bikers will be
dismissed first in order to retrieve their bikes and head home, out of the way of walkers. Walkers
will be dismissed second to socially distance from the bike riders.
*If the student is supposed to meet an adult off campus and the adult is not present, please train
your student to return to the safety of campus to contact parents or guardians.Bike Rider/Walker Dismissal Inclement Weather Day:
We encourage these students to be dismissed as car riders. However, if there is no other way of
dismissal transportation we will allow those students to travel home as a bike rider or walker when
it is safe to do so.
*If the student is supposed to meet an adult off campus and the adult is not present, please train
your student to return to the safety of campus to contact parents or guardians.Car Rider Dismissal Regular Weather Day:
Parents/guardians will remain in the car rider lane with their student dismissal tag displayed.
Students will wait by grade level in the in front lobby of the school. A staff member will
announce to the student(s) and the parent/guardian which post (1-10) to stop for pick-up in front
of the school. Please stay in the right lane so vehicles may pass on the left; be cautious not to
block the parking lot entrance while in line or leave your vehicle unattended. The car rider line
begins forming at 3:00. Please park in an approved spot prior to these times.Car Rider Dismissal Inclement Weather Day:
Parents/guardians will remain in the car rider lane with their student dismissal tag displayed.
Students will remain in the front lobby of the school per regular dismissal. A staff member will
announce to the student(s) and the parent/guardian which post (1-10) to stop for pick-up in front
of the school. Please stay in the right lane so vehicles may pass on the left, be cautious not to
block the parking lot entrance while in line or leave your vehicle unattended. The car rider line
begins forming at 3:00. Please park in an approved spot prior to these times.Bus Rider Dismissal Procedures:
Students will be dismissed from the café to the bus loop as school buses arrive. Bus rider
dismissal begins at 3:20 p.m.Extended Day Dismissal Procedures:
Extended Day students will be dismissed to their classrooms at 3:30 p.m. Extended Day staff will
meet students in the classroom.Per DCPS policy, students will NOT be dismissed from the office between 2:45 and 3:30. Please make
arrangements to pick up students before 2:45 or following their regular dismissal plan.
