The Florida Department of Education mandates Wellness Wednesday activities. It is required, in alignment with State Board Ruling 6A-1.094124. Students missing scheduled Wellness Wednesday sessions will be rescheduled for a make-up session during a Lunch and Learn period.
Changes in school schedules due to weather updates (hurricanes, flooding, etc.)
Posted 9/25/2024: On September 26 and 27, 2024, there will be no school due to Hurricane Helene. Classes will resume on September 30th and follow the A-day schedule.
Posted 10/3/2024: The updated school calendar will include making the November 1, 2024, weather day a regular instructional day.
Posted 10/7/2024: All DCPS campuses will be closed from October 9 through October 11 due to Hurricane Milton.
Posted 10/8/2024: The most recent version of the school calendar will include the following weather days to change to regular instructional days: Nov. 1, Feb 14, and May 30.
Douglas Anderson School of the Arts utilizes an alternating A/B schedule. Each student takes eight classes, but only attends four of those classes per day. Periods 1-4 meet on A-days, and periods 5-8 meet on B-days.
