    Question:

    How can I find out about activities and events going on at William M. Raines High School?

    Answer:

    Check the schools calendar, accessible from the home page of the Raines website. You will notice Upcoming Events. For specific events, you can contact our Student activities Director, Janelle Porter (7a – 4p) or our Community Education Director, Mr. Nathaniel Brown at x 101 (4p – 8p).

     

     

    Question:

    What is BYOD?

    Answer:

    Bring Your Own Device. Our campus is equipped with wireless internet throughout. Students may bring smart phones, tablets, laptops, etc. They may use them in class at the teachers’ discretion. Bring devices at your own risk; William M. Raines High School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

     

     

    Question:

    My child is going to be out today, what should I/they do?

    Answer:

    Make sure to bring a doctor’s note or excuse note to their appropriate House Administrator the day they return. Students are responsible for collecting their makeup work from each teacher.  

     

    Question:

    How do I schedule a conference with a school counselor or one or more teachers?

    Answer:

    To schedule a conference, contact Ms. White in the guidance suite at x111.

     

     

    Question:

    How do I get my log-in information for Grade Portal?

    Answer:

    Ms. Robinson in the front office or Ms. White in the guidance suite can give log-in information to parents who are listed on the emergency contact log with a valid ID. Unfortunately, log-in information and cannot be given over the phone or via email.

     

     

    Question:

    How does my student get their Grade Portal log-in?

    Answer:

    Grade Portal usernames and passwords for students have changed. Students are to use their DCPS computer username and password to access the grade portal. The username is the students DCPS student ID number beginning with an "s". The password consists of: capital first initial, day of birth, lowercase last initial and the last four digits of the student's social security number or Florida ID number.

     For example: Jasmine Smith, student number 12345678, DOB 01/25/1999, social security number 316-51-2104 would have a username of s12345678 and a password of J25s2104.

     

     

    Question:

    How do I get information on sports?

    Answer:

    Visit the school's website. Specific information is under the “Athletics” option. Or you can contact Coach Douglas White (Athletic Director) or Coach Tangela Ennis (Assistant Athletic Director).

     

     

    Question:

    My student is late for school. What should I do?

    Answer:

    Accompany your student to the front office and get checked in by Ms. Robinson.
