Mrs. Marleny Chirino, M. Ed.
Mrs. Marleny Chirino received her undergraduate degree of arts in English from Florida International University and her master's of science in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University. Prior to moving to Jacksonville, Mrs. Chirino taught High School English for three years at Miami Carol City Senior High School. Throughout the course of her five years in Jacksonville, Mrs. Chirino has served as Supervisor of Career and Business Partnerships and as an Assistant Principal. Her passion lies in working with parents, teachers, students and all appropriate stakeholders to continuously build upon the success of our students - our future.
Amidst the tasks assigned to Mrs. Chirino, she finds a way to carve time out to listen, watch, laugh with and support her students and teachers daily. She is a talented and dedicated member of the Englewood administrative team.
Mrs. Stacey Johnson, M. Ed.
Mrs. Stacey Johnson is a graduate of the University of Florida where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a major in Elementary Education. Through the ProTeach program at UF, she also earned her certificate for ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) with a primary focus on the Mandarin Chinese speaking population. With a passion to reach all types of learners, she continued in the education field by traveling abroad to Chania, Greece, where she taught English to native Greek speakers. Through this experience abroad she obtained her TEFL certification (Teaching English as a Second Language). After returning to the United States, she began teaching middle school mathematics at Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership Development School, with a focus on Algebra and Geometry. Mrs. Johnson continued to teach various mathematical levels at JLCP throughout the course of six years. Directly after receiving her Master of Arts in Education with a major in Educational Leadership at Jacksonville University, Mrs. Johnson took the charge at Englewood High School as the Mathematics Instructional Coach and now, as an Assistant Principal. Igniting a passion in all Englewood students to achieve their goals brings joy to Mrs. Johnson daily.
Mr. Albert Buckner, M.Ed.
Mr. Albert Buckner is an educator who has made leading an exemplary life a priority in all his pursuits. Mr. Buckner is a product of the Duval County School System and upon completion of high school, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. From there he obtained a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from UNF in 2003 and an additional Masters in Educational Leadership from JU in 2011.
After serving more than a decade as a teacher in Duval County, Mr. Buckner returned to school to earn his Master's Degree in School Counseling in 2014. Most recently he served as a school counselor at Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts and prior to this role he held a counselor position at First Coast High School.
Mr. Buckner's vast experiences at both the middle and high school levels, and his knowledge of students as both a teacher and counselor give him the foundation to serve as our newest administrative team member. He brings enthusiasm, high academic expectations and positivity to the Englewood Team!
