The 2019-2020 school year has started and we could not be more excited to welcome back all returning students and families as well as welcome all our new families to Sheffield! Our hallways are once again filled with beautiful faces and minds just waiting to be filled with knowledge, creativity, questions, aspirations, and so much more!
Remember breakfast and lunch are free to all students with breakfast starting at 8:00AM in the cafeteria Just as a reminder, students are not to be dropped off before 8:00AM as supervision is not available unless students are part of the morning extended day program.
Things to look forward to coming up, will be our Reading Kick-Off! Students will be setting goals with their teachers. Baseline testing will be starting right away. Please make sure your students are going to bed early for a good night’s sleep! Our theme for this year will be “Following the Sweet Path to Academic Success!.”
We continue to focus on preparing our students for academic success through rigorous and positive experiences that foster a belief in higher education. To help from home, please ensure that students are meeting their 45-minute goals each week on I-Ready Reading, I-Ready Math, and Achieve 3000. Research tells us that 45 minutes of each subject will help a student to reach one year’s growth in one year’s time. Remember, it is also important that students strive to make 75% or higher on each activity.
Sheffield Elementary remains committed to the service of our families and most importantly our children. We will continue to provide the best possible educational experience for your child as we follow the sweet path to academic success!
