Posted by Aurelia Williams on 4/11/2021Greetings TLAM Family!
The 2020-2021 TLAM Yearbook is on sale for $25. Please click on the link https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/index.cfm/job/592 to purchase a yearbook today or visit our school website. This week, our 7th and 8th grade Duval HomeRoom students will be on campus to take their FSA Writing on Monday, April 12th . Also, we will complete make up testing for our brick and mortar students who missed their scheduled test date. The FSA Writing is a two-hour assessment. Therefore, it is essential that our students bring their fully charged district laptops to school for testing and instructional purposes daily. Next week, we will kick off administering our District End of Course exams that do not have a state assessment tied to the course e.g. PE/Health, CTE, Global Scholars, Band, Spanish, etc. These assessments will be administered during the scheduled class periods which means Duval HomeRoom students will take the exams virtually; at home. If your child is exhibiting any signs of illness or is awaiting the results of a COVID test, please do not send your child to school.
From the world of Duval HomeRoom, please note students have to come on campus to take their grade level FSA/EOC state assessments. There is no exception to this rule as it is a state mandate. For FSA Writing, please make sure your child arrives on campus by 9:15am on their scheduled test date. Since the FSA Writing is a two-hour assessment, the scheduled pick-up time is 12:05pm. The pick-up time is subject to change if factors outside of the school control occurs or if your child uses their additional time as noted on their IEP/504 Plan. If this occurs, you will be notified once you arrive to campus for pick up. You will use the bus loop (back of the school) for drop off and the car loop (front of the school) for pick up. If your child misses their scheduled test date, AP Copeland or a member from his testing team will reach out to you to schedule a time for make-up testing. If your child hasn’t received their district assigned laptop, then a laptop will be provided for testing and if time permits a district laptop will be assigned to your child.
From the world of sports, please come out and support our spring sport teams. The spring sport schedules are posted to the school website. If you have any questions regarding athletics, please reach out to AD Story at storyg@duvalschools.org.
Our PTSA/SAC meeting is on Monday, April 12th at 5:30pm. We are still offering our hybrid option. If you are interested in receiving the Teams invitation, please make sure Mr. King, SAC President (jaymesnking@gmail.com) has your current email address in order to email you the link for the meeting. You are welcome to share the invitation with other parents. Here’s to an awesome week of learning!
