Principal's Message 3/10/2024
Posted by Josue Rentas on 3/11/2024Great Sunday TLAM family!
This is Principal Williams. It’s that time of year where we spring forward into the home stretch of this academic school year. This week, we have Early Release on Wednesday, March 13thwhere students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. The third nine week period ends on Thursday, March 14th. There will be no school on Friday, March 15th leading into spring break the week of March 18th through March 22nd. During spring break, please make sure your child is completing 30 minutes on Exact Path Reading and Math (learning path) each day. If your child has been tapped for tutoring, please make sure your child is in attendance regularly. This is a great opportunity for teachers to provide one on one academic support to close learning gaps. If you are interested in tutoring, please reach out to your child’s teachers or me. Remember, we still have Varsity Tutors through the blending platform to support learning. It’s easy and accessible to all Twin Lakes students.
From the desk of the 8th Grade Advisor, Ms. Bryan, she is still collecting payments for the 8th grade fieldtrip. There are a few seats left. Please send in your permission slip and payment to Ms. Bryan as the cut off for collecting all money is March 13th . If you have questions, please email Ms. Bryan at Bryanm@duvalschools.org.
From the desk of our Yearbook advisor, Ms. Canepa, we will have our clubs and sports pictures on Thursday, March 14th. A schedule has been provided to teachers to ensure all students are where they need to be on time. If there are any questions, please send an email to canepap@duvalschools.org.
As we transition to the ninth week of the third nine week period, I have a few reminders. Twin Lakes is a clear or mesh backpack school. If you need to speak with your child, please call the school or you can email me or AP Copeland at copelandd@duvalschools.org. I am asking for your support to not text or call your child during the instructional day. Students are to come to school daily with their school planner, student ID, and a clear or mesh backpack. Please review the weekly activities calendar on our school website to plan accordingly for any upcoming dates. If you have any questions regarding athletics, please email AD Larry Edwards at edwardsl2@duvalschools.org or Dean Story at storyg@duvalschools.org. Please join our great body of parents, teachers, and students as we work together in Building an A+ PACK Mentality at our PTSA/SAC meeting tomorrow, March 11th at 5:30pm in the media center. If you aren’t available to join us in person, please use the virtual option below. Have a PACKful week!
