Greetings to All Eagles!
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Principal of Ruth Upson Elementary. I am extremely excited to serve my new Eagle’s family this 2022-2023 school year! Go Eagles!
I have been an educator for over twenty-four years, with most of those years here in the beautiful and historic Duval County.
I have served in various capacities, such as classroom teacher (grades 2-5), interventionist, and instructional coach. Each year will always bring new challenges, and this year is no different. However, together everything is possible when you are soaring like a Ruth Upson Eagle!
I have a B.S in Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama (Mobile, AL), as well as a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. (Jacksonville, FL.) I hold a professional educator certificate in Educational Leadership (All Levels), Elementary Education (K-6), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Endorsement, and a Reading K-12 Endorsement. I am a lifelong learner who enjoys reading as my favorite past-time and who hopes to instill that love of reading in many other Eagles this year!
On a personal note, I have been married to my amazing husband, Walter, for twenty-one years and we have two handsome boys. We enjoy attending sporting events, worshipping together as a family, and celebrating holidays and community events throughout the year.
I look forward to working with Mrs. Roberts-Graham and the Eagle family to continue the awesome work that has made Ruth Upson Elementary the choice for me this year, to not only grow as a professional, but to be a part of a school family that is working collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and the community, to ensure that every student will experience academic success that will enrich, inspire, and lead them to a lifetime of success having been an Eagle at Ruth Upson Elementary.
