Mentoring & Leadership Development

The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project aims to intervene in the lives of minority male youth in an effort to provide them with positive role models and experiences that will empower them to make good choices, encourage healthy living, be responsible, be respectful, and achieve their goals.

Boys in grades 3 - 12 participate in various cultural and educational experiences such as visits to college campuses, workshops, and job and career building trainings. Members will also serve as ambassadors for the program and the school district throughout the City of Jacksonville. Each participating school has a 5000 Role Models of Excellence Site Director who serves as club sponsor to facilitate speakers, field trips, and assist with mentor recruitment.

PLEASE NOTE:
A perspective member should be a minority male (not exclusive) at a participating 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project School. Interested members must complete the Application and submit a Parent Consent Form. Perspective members must be willing to attend weekly meetings and attend project events. To be deemed eligible, a perspective member must meet at least two of the qualifying criteria factors.
