Important School Information



FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - Tuesday, August 10, 2021.

Students who are not present during the first three days of school will be removed from the Magnet Program.


SCHOOL TIME   8:10 a.m. – 2:55 p.m.  Please do not drop your child off earlier than 7:30 a.m.  Students will not be permitted into the main building until 7:55 a.m. unless they have a morning tutoring pass from their teacher.  Students will be directed to the courtyard, auditorium, or cafeteria in the mornings.

STUDENT CHECK OUT   If you need to pick up your child during the school day, please send a note with your child that morning and include your phone number so that Student Services can confirm the dismissal and issue an Early Out Pass.  You may also call Student Services directly at 904-630-6760 option #8.  The latest time you may check your child out is 2:15 p.m.


Homeroom assignments and room numbers will be appear on the students schedule in FOCUS.  STUDENTS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO HOMEROOM ON AUGUST 10th, AT 8:10 A.M.

ATHLETICS Refer to the website: There you will find sports schedules, tryout dates, required paperwork, and more. Fall sports include Football, Volleyball, Swimming and Diving, Bowling, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Golf.  You will find the tryout dates on the homepage by clicking the “Calendars and Schedules” button on the right side and scrolling down.  Before participating in a sport at any capacity, you will need to complete all required paperwork by clicking the “Athletic Clearance” button on the homepage and following the instructions.  If you have any questions specific to a sport, please use the “Contact Us” tab on and contact the coach directly.  If you have any questions about athletics in general, please contact the Athletic Director, Coach Crider at  Senior Banner Pictures will be taken on Monday, August 16th at 5:00 p.m. in Room 609.  Cost is $80.00.

CLUB FAIR - An “open-air” club fair will be held on Friday, September 10th, during both lunches so students can learn about clubs and activities available to them at Stanton.  Club meeting times, locations, and contact persons will also be available at that time.

CODE OF CONDUCTIn order to conserve resources, paper copies of the Code of Student Conduct are no longer distributed.  You can locate an electronic copy of the Code online at the District website at:  You and your student are expected to read the DCPS Student Code of Conduct.  Students are held accountable for the Code of Conduct. COMPUTER /INTERNET ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY - Students are expected to read the Acceptable Use Policy form online at and will be held accountable for its contents.

DANCES – Class dues must be current in order to purchase a ticket to any Stanton dance and must be paid prior to the week of ticket sales.  NO tickets will be sold at the door.  If a Stanton student would like to invite a guest, a guest form must be on file one day prior to ticket purchase.  All students attending dances must adhere to SCP dance policies.

Homecoming Dance tickets will go on sale in September and Winter Dance tickets the third week of January.  Both dances have a limited number of tickets that will be sold and it will be on a first come, first served basis.  The Junior-Senior Prom tickets will be sold at the end of March.  Ticket prices are TBD.

FRESHMAN CLASS ELECTIONS - Applications to run for freshman class office will be available on August 13th through the Student Activities Link Tree until August 19th.  Applications are due Thursday, August 19th.  Mandatory candidate meeting will be on Friday, August 20th at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium.  Campaigns run from August 23rd - September 2nd.  Voting will be held during lunches on Friday, September 3rd.

HOMECOMING – Homecoming Week is October 18 - 22.  Our Homecoming football game will be played in the Blue Devil Stadium on Friday, October 22nd.  The Junior-Senior court will be presented during half time.  The Junior-Senior Homecoming Court will be a nomination process.  Applications will be available in the Student Activities Office, Room 702.

HONOR CODE AND ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY - Personal pride and integrity are essential to Stanton's dedication to academic excellence and are fundamental elements of the Student Statement of Commitment.  Cheating is a Class II offense as defined in the Duval County School Board Student Code of Conduct.  Consequences may include suspension from school.  Cheating, to include plagiarism, collusion, or misrepresentation will not be tolerated.

JUNIOR RING ORDERS - Herff-Jones will distribute information packets regarding school rings during the Junior assembly on Friday, August 13th.  They will take orders during class picture days, September 7th & September 8th

PEP RALLIES – Fall Sports & Homecoming Pep Rally:  September/ Winter Sports:  December/ Spring Sports: March.  Students are encouraged to wear their class colors to the pep rallies.  Seniors: Red   Juniors: White    Sophomores: Blue    Freshmen: Black


SPIRIT DAYS – In addition to pep rallies, there will be designated Spirit Days throughout the year with lunchtime activities planned.  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear blue and white on Spirit Days!

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL - Parents who are interested in being an elected, voting member of the Stanton SAC (School Advisory Council) should e-mail the principal’s secretary, Suzanne O’Donnell at, by August 6, 2021 and include a short biography of yourself to have your name added to the ballot.  The election will be held at the first meeting on Wednesday, August 18th, at 3:30 p.m. in the Media Center.  Parents whose names have been added to the ballot should plan to attend. SAC meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 3:30 p.m. and are open to everyone.  Dates and times will be posted on our website.

SCHOOL PICTURES - School pictures for students in grades 9-11 will be taken on Tuesday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 8th through English classes.  Information on pre-payment and picture packets will be available online through the Student Activities Teams page.  The deadline for taking senior pictures (for yearbook) is August 3rd.  Senior pictures are by appointment at Leonard’s Photography (800) 215-4852 or (904) 209-3300 or online at  Underclassmen picture retakes, NHS, senior cap & gown, and Freshman Class Officer Pictures will be taken on (TBD), Students will be required to SIGN-UP in Room 702 before school and during lunch periods for make ups.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES – Stanton does not have a specific supply list.  Students should come to school with basic supplies, to include 3 ring binders, spiral notebook, composition book, pens, pencils, calculator, index cards, notebook paper, and highlighters.  Office Depot and Target will give 5% of dollars spent by Duval County teachers, students, and parents to their designated schools.  Please ask the cashier to credit 5% of your total to Stanton.

SENIOR ACTIVITIES – Seniors are encouraged to check the Class of 2022 Teams page for monthly Senior News Updates and the Senior Page on the Stanton website for information regarding senior activities. Important information will be given in October and January regarding graduation.

TRANSPORTATION: Magnet Bus Routes can be found on the district website,  For questions, call 858-6200.  Car rider pick-up is adjacent to the football field off of Myrtle Ave.  Students who are not picked up by 3:30 p.m. will be directed to the Media Center for Extended Day.  A $10.00 fee will be assessed for every late pick-up.
