Morning Announcements!

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Announcement Date:  10/15/19

  • All girls interested in playing soccer, tryouts begin on Monday 10/21 after school until 5:00.  You must have a current physical and athletic packet on file in the Athletic Director’s office.  See Coach Talley for a packet or if you have any questions.
  • Are you feeling stressed? Do you want to improve your focus and attention? The practice of Mindfulness is a scientifically proven technique to help you cope with adversity and enhance your mental and emotional well-being. The Mindfulness Club will meet this Wednesday October 16th at 3pm, in room 43. Everyone is welcome to participate.
  • Attention, NHS tutoring for this week has been canceled. There will be no tutoring in Ms. Wrights' room this week.
  • The Homecoming Dance is coming soon! Tickets go on sale Monday for $15. Get a hoco T-shirt for $5 with Your dance ticket purchase. Tickets will be on sale during lunch.
  • Looking for community service hours? Jacksonville's Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's is happening November 16th. To learn how to volunteer, please see Mr. Ross in the counseling office.
  • 9th, 10th and 11th graders – the PSAT will be given on Wednesday 10/16.  This is a 3 hour test.  Students will need to bring their own scientific calculator the day of the exam. 
  • In an effort to keep the school safe, please understand that food cannot be delivered to the school. Please do not order, or have anyone order and deliver food to you here at the school.  All delivery services will be turned away.  The only people who can bring you food are your parents/guardians. 
  • As a reminder, you can only get five tardies per 9 weeks. On the fourth tardy, your parents will be called and on the fifth tardy you will be assigned ISSP for the day.  Please get to school on time, and get to class on time throughout the day. 
  • There is tutoring every day after school (unless cancelled) every Tuesday and Thursdays for math in Mr Bickham’s room and every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for all subjects by the NHS in Ms. Wright’s room.
