Join Sandalwood BAND- We are  looking for current Sandalwood students wanting to join our band and colorguard. Being in band is one of the best activities you can do in high school and offers the opportunity to get a scholarship to march in amazing bands like FSU, UF, and FAMU. 

We are looking for the following:
  1. Students who may have played an instrument before and want to pick it back up. 
  2. Students who want to learn an instrument. 
  3. Students wanting to join our amazing colrguard. This is a no cut, no experience required group. We teach you everything you need to know. 
If you are interested, please contact our band director, Stephen Panoff at panoffs@duvalschools.org or tell your student to stop by the bandroom and talk to Mr. Panoff.

Mental Health Community Outreach: In partnership with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), commissioners will host Community Bus Tours in various neighborhoods. The first stop will be on the Eastside on Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. – noon at The Church of Oakland. It will be an event for the whole family. There will be music, refreshments and educational resources. Experts will also be on hand to talk with parents, children and community members about the importance of mental health care to cope with the impact of violence, stress and trauma in our community.Event Flyer

GIRLS LACROSSE - There will be an informational meeting for girls wanting to play lacrosse. The meeting is on Thursday 1/20 right after school in the stadium bleachers.
BOYS BASEBALL- Baseball tryouts will be Monday 1/24/2022 directly after school. Please have all paperwork uploaded to athleticclearance.com prior to tryouts. See Coach Moses in Blue House for more information.
BOYS TENNIS- Any boys interested in tennis there will be a meeting Wednesday January 19th after school in room 888. See Coach Pace for questions or additional information.
GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL- There will be an informational meeting for any girls wanting to play JV or Varsity Flag football. The meeting is Thursday January 20th after school in the amphitheater.
FAST PITCH SOFTBALL- Any girls interested in trying out for fastpitch softball, there will be a softball meeting on Tuesday Jan 18 at 215 pm in the amphitheater.
GIRLS TENNIS- Girls interested in trying out for the tennis team, please have your physical and other pertinent paperwork uploaded on athleticclearance.com before tryouts. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Jan. 18 to 20, from 2:15 to 3:30. See Coach Alfonso in Portable 884 for questions.
BOYS LACROSSE- There will be a Boys lacrosse meeting at 2:05 on Friday January 21st in the Amphitheater. Boys lacrosse tryouts start on Monday January 24th at 3 pm after school. See Coach Byrd in room 140 for more information.

We will go over space news, interesting space topics, and provide education about our cosmos. We also go over things such as rocketry and space exploration and even have a Rocketry team where we build and fly rockets in a competition and even have the chance to win things such as scholarships. We are also planning on having field trips to the MOSH and to go stargazing. Go to room 310 for more information.

8/20/21 Yearbook Photos - Underclassmen photo day is September 7th and September 8th. Please bring your smile for the photo. This photo is important because it will be going into the yearbook, and you will have the option to purchase them.

8/20/21 - COVID Prevention and Duval Vax - We encourage all students to wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID 19. Continue to clean hands often and social distance when possible. 8/19/21 - Girls Who Code - UPDATE Meeting has been cancelled. More details will be provided by Ms. Johnston soon. Are you interested in computer coding? 8/18/21 - Student Parking - All parking decals need to be purchased by Friday 8/20. We will be enforcing the parking lots on Monday 8/23. Any vehicle parked in a parking spot without a decal will be towed at the owners expense. See Mr. Lakatos in the Gold house to purchase your pass today.

The BAND Needs You! The Sandalwood Mighty Marching Saints is looking for two piano players to perform in their 2021 Production -Desert Winds. You must be able to read music and attend after school practices when needed, all home football games, and several competitions in October and November. In exchange, I will sign off on service hours. 8/9/21 Full Time Nurse  Sandalwood Nurse will perform routine and prescribed invasive and non-invasive procedures as ordered by the student’s health care provider. Additional duties include: 1) Provide basic first aid and attend to student health needs as indicated in the School Health Services manual. 2)Administer prescription and non-prescription medication. 3)Provide support for Telehealth. 4) Students are not allowed to carry prescribed or over the counter medication with them unless approved by the Principal.

7/27/21 Backpacks, ID's, and Supply Lists - All book bags must be see through mesh or plastic.  As a safety precaution, all other book bags will not be allowed in class.  ALL students must wear School ID at all times on campus and to enter classrooms.
