JWJ Win Middle School of the Month

From the DCPS District Office:

The theme for the month was “Celebrating Diversity” and once again this month we had a number of wonderful nominations for the award, sponsored by our partners at Community First Credit Union.  It is my pleasure to introduce February’s School of the Month for each region:

• Middle School Region:  James Weldon Johnson Middle School, Principal John Kniseley

Of particular note was the school’s Black History Festival that included a plethora of activities.  Throughout the year, the students engage in lessons about different cultures through literature and project-based learning.

We are so grateful to Mrs. Lawrence for spearheading our BHM festivities.
