District now streaming more school board meetings; regular meetings no longer on WJCT and Comcast
Beginning on Monday, Oct. 9, the district will exclusively broadcast its regular meetings, special meetings, agenda meetings, and workshops online. All of these meetings are also open for public attendance.
The shift to exclusive online streaming comes as a result of technology upgrades aimed at maintaining transparency, as well as giving community members “front-row” access to public meetings, even if they cannot attend in person.
Previously, the public had remote access only to regular monthly meetings. Now, most of the board’s meetings will be streamed. With this transition, regular monthly board meetings will no longer air on WJCT, the local PBS station, or on Comcast cable.
Those wishing to watch a board meeting livestream can do so on any device by heading to the website www.duvalschools.org/board. The public can also access a video archive of previous meetings on the same page.
A full calendar of board meeting dates, times and locations can be found online at the Board Meeting Notice section of the Duval County Public Schools website.
