Applications being accepted for paid district teacher internship program

 

Applications are being accepted for Jumpstart 3.0, a paid teacher internship designed to launch careers in teaching and address the national teacher shortage. See details below.

 

  • What: Jumpstart is a paid, six-week teacher internship program that is open to individuals who are currently eligible through the Florida Department of Education to teach elementary and/or secondary content areas.

    Once accepted in the program, the teacher interns will receive four weeks of training from the district teacher development specialists and two weeks of shadowing a master teacher. Participants will be paid as a part-time teacher at a rate of $26 an hour for 25 hours a week. After successful completion of the program, the participants will be assigned to a full-time teaching position.

  • Application deadline: Applications are being accepted through Dec. 31, 2019.

 

  • Internship dates:  The internship will run from Jan. 21, 2020 – Feb. 29, 2020.
